On November 13, 2025, H2H Foundation in collaboration with Art Kontakt and North Green Association in the premises of the Pustec Municipality presented the project “Active Water II”, which aims to monitor the quality of surface waters in the municipalities of Tirana, Durres, Shijak, Elbasan, Belsh, Fier, Shkoder and Pustec.
The meeting began with a presentation of the participants of the organizations that are implementing the project and their role in this project. The main problem of pollution of water bodies from the discharge of urban wastewater, organic and inorganic waste in Albania was emphasized, as well as the need for continuous monitoring of lakes, rivers and reservoirs by the responsible institutions.

During the meeting, the findings from the first water quality monitoring report were presented, focusing on the state of Lake Prespa, and the need for close cooperation between the Municipality and private businesses (bars, restaurants and other tourist entities) was discussed to ensure sustainable development of the area without harming the ecosystem of the lake and the surrounding environment. The Municipality of Pustec expressed its readiness to cooperate with the project and local stakeholders to improve water management and environmental practices.

The activity was carried out within the framework of the #GreenAL project “Support to Civil Society Organizations 2024 -2027”, financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) with funds from the Swedish Government and implemented by Co-PLAN, Institute for Habitat Development in collaboration with VIS Albania and COSV – Cooperazione per lo Sviluppo.
