Active Water II – First Water Quality Monitoring Report – June 2025

Posted by

H2H Foundation has published the First Monitoring Report within the framework of the Active Water II project, which aims to assess the quality of water bodies and promote sustainable management of natural resources.
The monitoring conducted during June 2025 included 14 water bodies in Albania, where physical, chemical and microbiological parameters were analyzed in order to assess the current state of surface waters and identify possible impacts of pollution from human activities.
The results of the first phase provide a basic overview of water quality, contributing to the construction of a stable data base for future monitoring and the design of measures for the protection and improvement of aquatic ecosystems.
The monitoring was carried out using equipment made available by GreenAl. Bacteriological analyses were carried out by the Laboratory of the Department of Environment and Ecology, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, at the Agricultural University of Tirana, with samples taken by environmental experts of H2H Foundation.
This report was produced within the framework of the #GreenAL project “Support to Civil Society Organizations 2024 -2027”, financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) with funds from the Swedish Government and implemented by Co-PLAN, Institute for Habitat Development in collaboration with VIS Albania and COSV – Cooperazione per lo Sviluppo.
