H2H Foundation participated in the International Symposium on “Design codes of dams and their seismic safety” at the Academy of Sciences in Tirana.

The purpose of this activity was to discuss the construction and operation of large dams and their seismic safety.

Erjon Kalaja presented the issues of decommissioning of Large Dams, the reasons for the decommissioning / removal from use of dams and the procedures to be followed according to the recommendations of ICOLD. The main findings of the “Albanian Municipality Dam Removal -DARE” project from the meetings we held with the Municipalities were also presented.
