{"id":1526,"date":"2026-09-09T15:37:59","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T15:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/h2h-foundation.al\/?p=1526"},"modified":"2026-09-09T15:43:40","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T15:43:40","slug":"riverclean-third-cleanup-activity-at-lalezit-public-beach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/h2h-foundation.al\/en\/riverclean-third-cleanup-activity-at-lalezit-public-beach\/","title":{"rendered":"RIVERCLEAN &#8211; Third Cleanup Activity at Lalezi Public Beach"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On July 22, 2026, within the framework of the <strong>RIVERCLEAN<\/strong> project, the third coastal cleanup activity was held at Lal\u00ebzi Public Beach, with the participation of volunteers from <strong>Rotary Club Tirana International<\/strong> and<strong> Horizons to Sustainability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the activity, volunteers joined efforts to contribute to the improvement of the environmental condition of the coastal area, by collecting and removing <strong>226 kg of waste<\/strong>, divided as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>98.6 kg of plastic waste<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>127.4 kg of other waste<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This amount shows the significant level of pollution that continues to affect our coastal and marine ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to cleaning the area, the activity aimed to raise awareness on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reducing the use of single-use plastics to prevent waste from ending up in rivers and seas;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protecting watercourses that directly impact marine ecosystems;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promoting sustainable practices and behaviors in local communities to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment in the long term.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every kilogram of waste removed from the environment represents a concrete step towards protecting nature.
