📅 On 29 May, a monitoring activity was carried out at the Public Beach located at the end of the Lalëz Beach coastline, within the framework of the #RIVERCLEAN project.

📍 The selected monitoring site was located at the end of Lalëz Beach coastline, near the Tarin stream – an area exposed to pressures from human activities and plastic pollution.

🌊 During the activity, the presence, types, and quantities of litter were observed and monitored in accordance with the standardised beach litter monitoring protocol.

👉 The activity aimed to provide a clearer overview of the pollution situation by identifying the main types of litter, understanding their possible sources, and assessing their impact on the coastal and marine environment. It also contributed to raising awareness on the importance of reducing plastic waste and protecting natural ecosystems.

🔎 Key findings:

🧾 511 litter items recorded in 100 metres distance
⚖️ 30.535 kg of waste collected in total
♻️ 12.455 kg of plastic waste
🗑️ 18.08 kg of other waste

This activity is implemented within the framework of the RIVERCLEAN initiative, carried out by ETMI and Milieukontakt Albania, with the support of the European Union.
